Draft
Getting Designs Print-Ready
consistency - is the spacing consistent and intentional, are stroke thicknesses consistent (where they should be I know this one has that intentional difference between the two places)
spell check.
imagery - are the crops nice? are images inside of masks filling that mask? do the photos need any photoshopping/editing? are the images high enough quality on something this big?
delivery - is everything packaged in a PDF with imagery and fonts? is that package clearly labeled, are we following the instructions provided or industry standard? I like to keep one version with the live text but often it is a good idea to have a version with outlined text.
color check - make sure we are using the actual brand colors and everything is in the correct color mode.
Lessons Learned in Printer Specifications:
Consult with the printers to determine their preferred bleed size and whether they require crop marks.
Black and white images for print should be saved as grayscale, not CMYK.
When printing text on a colored background, check if the printer would like overprint fill to be turned on.
When designing with black discuss with the printer if they can produce a rich black (CMYK) or if they only print a K value.
